National Adoption Day

Adoption Saturday is a national event that the Douglas County Nebraska Juvenile Court has participated in for 19 consecutive years. Its purpose is to attract media attention to the need for more foster and adoptive homes for children in the Child Welfare Systems across the country. We have had a wonderful media response each and every year, and as a result, there has been an increase in the number of individuals willing to open their homes as foster and/or adoptive parents.
